John Peel

Reply from Peelie to me after sending him a custom-made birthday card (30 August); it was on the back of a Nicky Campbell card. Think this was in 1994. I had written that I often shopped at the Ladbroke Grove Rough Trade shop, knowing that he did too – hence his message about maybe meeting there one day, but it didn’t happen.

From 1991, these cards were put out to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the record label – 42 cards in the set, featuring custom art of bands including the Verlaines, Tall Dwarfs, The Chills, The Bats, Straitjacket Fits and more, packed in a plastic cassette case.

NME

Playing card set from 1991 – of the time, great photos of great people, and a bit of fun:Morrissey is the queen of diamonds, Mark E. Smith is the joker, and James Brown is the king of hearts.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Actually from 1965 – bubblegum collector cards, numbered 1 - 72 (I am missing #71). Collected when I was a kid and a fan of the tv show; one side has the numbers and images from the show, and the other side makes the big image of Illya Kuryakin, Napoleon Solo and Mr Waverley. I had them stuck to the wall, hence the sellotape marks, some image tearing, and a couple of the ones that are cut out to stand up are damaged.
